The Government of Uttar Pradesh is organising the first ever NRI Divas focussed on the state’s diaspora on 4th – 5th January 2016, in the beautiful city of AGRA. I cordially invite you.
During this flagship event, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Akhilesh Yadav, major policy decisions and initiatives planned for the state’s diaspora will be unveiled. In this regard, we request you to join us and celebrate the vibrancy you have created for Uttar Pradesh around the world during the event. I am glad to let you know that the session, in addition to highlighting your general concerns, will also provide you the right platform to discuss your investment proposals, if any.
It is my pleasure tolet you know that the government has recently established a full-fledged Department of NRI Affairs. The department aims at creating an effective relationship with you and provide support services for any issues/ facilitation that you, your kin or families face at home in the State. Through the department, the government also plans to roll out cards certifying NRIs/ PIOs from UP which would entitle the bearer to prompt response whenever he/ she meets a Government functionary in addition to multiple other third party benefits. Felicitation of the NRIs/ PIOs for outstanding contribution towards the state is also on the anvil.
In addition to all these initiatives, the officers of the State Government have been instructed to accord a very high priority to matters that are reported or referred by the NRIs. The soon to be launched website of the Department will contain the contact details of the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police as well as the Commissioners and DIGs and other senior officers at the State Government level so that they can be reached directly in case of any need.
On a concluding remark, I, on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, assure you that we will do all that is required to create an enduring and meaningful relationship with you. And in return, I urge you to connect with your motherland and become a partner in its growth story. The services offered by the Government for the state’s diaspora will make that journey easy and smooth.
